Graphic Design Services
Communication. That's the one reason we use graphic design. We all want to communicate our message in the best way possible. Whether it's a brochure, postcard, logo or signage, we want to get our message to our audience effectively.
Choices
There is a lot to consider when creating a
print piece. Who's going to see it?
How many pieces should be printed?
What kind of paper? What is the feeling
you're going for? Professional? Playful?
Consider this.
There's a lot that goes into a printed piece,
but the most time spent is actually sitting
down to imagine possibilities. In the course
of one project I may make 50-100 rough sketches
to narrow the design down to what I think works
best. When you hire a designer, you're hiring
his brain time. The design process is also affected
by budget. If costs are an object (and when
aren't they?) then you need to consider the
number of inks used (is it a four-color process?
Two color? One color?), the type of paper (is
this a brochure or a newsletter?) and what size
will work best for you? Die cuts (lines or shapes
cut out of the final printed piece) also increase
cost.
Are photos to be used? Make sure they are as
high resolution as possible. I prefer
300 dots per inch, but it's best to begin
with the highest resolution images
you can provide. Images on the web can't
be used for print projects because they
are generally 72 dots per inch and will
appear very degraded when printed. Please

information on print projects.
